Current theme: The shipwreck of Princess Sophia Albertina
On the night of 20 August, 1781, one of the most extensive accidents in the 500-year history of the Swedish Navy occurred. In heavy fog, the ship of the line Princess Sophia Albertina ran with great force on a shallow in the southern parts of the North Sea. In the high winds, the starboard railing was shattered and the entire ship lay on its side before disappearing below the surface.
