To fight at sea, weapons such as cannons were needed, but also small arms and swords for melee combat on board. The exhibition shows how the fleet's weapons were handled on land.

From our collection: drawing

Drawing of the site and floor plan of Tyghuset at the Artillery Yard in Karlskrona. The drawing is from the beginning of the 18th century.

The weapons were stored in the Armoury when the ships were in port. In the Armery there was also an artillery model chamber, where drawings were produced and new weapon models tested in practice. In the exhibition you will see many of the most common weapons between the 1600s and 1800s, and several of the models that were developed.
