The Naval Museum's archives contain over 4,000 drawings, maps and nautical charts, as well as over 250 shelf-metres of various documents.
The official archive and the drawings archive
The Naval Museum's archives contain great quantities of interesting events imprinted on maps, drawings and other documents. Information that can tell us much about Swedish naval history.
The majority of the archival material comes from the Old Naval Shipyard or from organisations with some connection to it, such as the minutes and accounts from Karlskrona Women's Association for Sweden's Maritime Defence (Karlskrona Kvinnoförbund för Sveriges Sjöförsvar) (1895-1977), writings, minutes, and annual reports form the Naval Under Officers' Society (Sjöunderofficerssällskapet, SUOSS) (1883-1957) and Crown Princess Victoria's Naval Home (Kronprinsessan Victorias örlogshem) (1903-1973).
The archives are open to the public and you can either visit us or search in our archives online.
The official archive and the drawings archive are open by arrangement.
